Hattie Peck

Landry wanted me to read a book called Hattie Peck to her while she settled in for a nap today. She’s been battling high fever and a cough with the flu. I started reading the story and it began explaining that Hattie Peck only had one egg and it never hatched. She thought about eggs all the time. She wanted eggs so badly that she decided to go find all the abandoned eggs she could find. Landry interrupted me and {Read More}

Peace has Come

We had a hard weekend. Friday my oldest daughter accidentally cut her hand and my husband had to take her to the urgent care clinic to see if she needed stitches. A little more than 24 hours later our middle daughter slipped/tripped and went headlong into our coffee table. Back to the urgent care clinic we went. It seemed like wrapping the youngest in bubble wrap might be in order. I felt horrible. Even though both daughters are doing great {Read More}

Meet the Author: R. M. Huffman

Do you wonder what life was like for Old Testament folk like Adam and Eve? I always wondered what they did all day long when they lived for hundreds of years. If you stand with creationism then you don’t always have your views represented in mainstream bookstores. Quite frankly, I haven’t run across a lot of great literature that inspires me when it comes to exploring what life may have been like during the time before The Flood until now. {Read More}

Cabin Fever-Induced Goal Setting of 2016

I am afraid of goal setting. There. I said it. It stresses me out. I don’t like looking in the mirror and feeling the way I judge myself for not meeting my own expectations. However, I got tricked into goal setting this year. The day after Christmas brought Goliath or Snowmageddon or whatever we’re supposed to call the blizzard that dumped around 10″ of snow on us in the Panhandle. We hadn’t left the house much for about a week {Read More}

Swimming Lessons

Lesca Durham. When we moved here 7 years ago I remember hearing the name of everyone’s favorite swim teacher, but no matter how many times I heard people say her name or even spell it for me I couldn’t seem to wrap my brain around it. Well, fast forward to Summer 2015 and our three girls are finally learning from the famed Miss Lesca. My parents came in town this weekend and Dad decided he’d come to the girls’ first {Read More}

Searchers, Not Needers, Find

Ever feel like you’re on the cusp of something special. You know there is potential inside of a particular situation, but don’t know how to get there from here? I feel that way every time I look in my fridge and my pantry. 😉 I’ve found some really great speakers I like to listen to from time to time. One such person is Jim Rohn. He’s added a ton of value to people from all over the world. I listened {Read More}

Stumbling Around

So you don’t know this, but this is the second time I’ve typed this. Why? Because I don’t know what I’m doing. I think I know. But I don’t really know. So I fumble my way through the path in hopes that I’d stumble upon a finished product I can be proud of. I AM really excited to communicate with you all via this blog. I know I’ll get better at it and I’m looking forward to the journey. Today {Read More}
